Deck remodel & the Great Skunk Stakeout

Wes didn't like the way our deck stairs ended in a low spot in the yard.
He wanted to raise the cement pad and level the lawn around the stairs.
So he cut off the base of the stairs and started changing things.

We also wanted to enlarge our existing deck so we can have
a table and chairs and our BBQ on it.

Building the base for the deck extension.

Cement broken up and a new base about to be poured.

Extending the deck.
It was amazing how Wes did this and it was level and perfect!

New cement bottom step.

That night we had the Great Skunk Stakeout.
We had 2 skunks living under our shed and eating our cat food.
We got rid of 1 but can't seem to catch the 2nd one.
TONIGHT,
Wes, Doug and Grandkids are camping out to try to get it!
Camping out on the flatbed trailer with snacks, flashlights and lots of giggling.
No wonder they didn't catch the skunk... but it was an adventure!

The next day Grandma is teaching kids to cross stitch.

The old railing has been added on to the new end of the deck.
Wes is staining the new and old wood.

It's finished and looks really nice.
