MISSION TRAINING CENTER in Provo

We entered the Missionary Training Center on November 12, 2018
Driving to the MTC in Provo.  We arrived at 10:10 am. on Monday, November 12th.

We pulled up to the front, parked our car and entered the front doors.

Standing in line to receive our name tags and schedule.

I remember walking down this hall when Doug went on his mission
and going into a large room on the left for a farewell type meeting--
Turns out this is the exact room we will spend a lot of our meetings in.

Pictures taken for us by young missionaries who are welcoming us.
Our apartment complex.  Senior missionaries are on the top floor.
We were assigned Room #331

Every missionary has to take this picture!

Y mountain - the view from our bedroom.

Looking into the MTC complex from our window.
New name tag, Elder Heward.

Sister Heward in the cafeteria.
Our first orientation meeting.

Monday's schedule.
Meetings... and we were grouped into districts and
were given an assigned couple to be our companion couple.
The Bowen's are our companions.
They are from Logan.   MLS missionaries like us but they will be serving in North Dakota.
(small world in the church, Elder Bowen's grandpa and Wes' grandpa were brothers!)
Not a coincidence that were are assigned together.
We all became very close friends.

Our official identification papers and ID key cards for meals and our room.
Missionary name badges.

Our room for the week.

Tuesday's schedule.

When we came back for a lunch break I had a package from Heidi and family for my birthday!

The inside of my birthday box from Heidi.  WOW!
It was filled with goodies, letters from the kids and a gift.
We shared the birthday Oreos with our district and they were enjoyed by all.

All the senior missionaries attending the MTC this week.
District 1

District 2
Senior Missionary office in our teaching building.

Wednesday's schedule.
This is our large meeting room for the entire group.

We had very uplifting, inspirational and learning experiences.
Even technology training that was so helpful!
Our smaller room for teaching in our District group.

Our teachers on either end are Sister Higa and Sister Barlow.
A new building at the MTC has 6 floors and 12 amazing murals.
Each mural is 10 ft. by 30 ft. with special lighting and seem very realistic!

Thursday's schedule and my 61st birthday.
I bought the necklace of Utah with Called to Serve on it and
Heidi and Sam and family sent me the heart on a missionary necklace.
They are perfect together and I wear them that way.
Doug and Misty and family sent me a package delivered from a local bakery filled with brownies.
Plenty to share with others!

Got this cute senior missionary birthday card from Jessica and Andrew.

Friday's schedule.
I am still getting birthday cards!  A postcard from Dale and
a text from Leisa and the kids about another card still coming (which the MTC will forward)
and another good senior missionary card from Jessica and Andrew.
Honestly, it was so nice to be remembered and thought about during our MTC experience.  I feel loved.
This was delivered a week later to our home by way of the mission office forwarded from the MTC!
Birthday wishes from Will and Addison and Leisa.
MTC cafeteria pictures.  After being there only 2 days we had
new young missionaries asking us for directions!  Funny!

Our final day of inspiration at the MTC.

Our missionary goal.

The "Happy Family" closed our time at the MTC
with a spoof on Senior Missionaries and it was hilarious!

Recap of our week.
