August - Will and Taylor have birthdays

(ok, this wasn't in August)
Heidi, Sam and kids
exploring the area around Kansas before they moved
Jade pulling a handcart

Mayci loves the Salt Lake Temple

Now, we are in August---
Lincoln - 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby

#9 Grandchild on the way
Leisa and Dale are having a girl in 5 weeks

Will at swimming lessons

Wes is working on building a new shed
original shed
chicken coop not even in place yet

Our neighbor, Larry, drilled the post holes with his tractor
then Doug came up and helped Wes put
7 posts in for the new shed

Wes is adding the rafters
 looking great!
A week or so later, Doug came back up and they put 7 MORE posts in
to extend the depth of the shed

it was tough getting the boards up that high
holding them, leveling and nailing into place -
without falling!

During August we also had the
Heward Family Reunion
at Bear Lake

the family rented a house and barn at the North end of Bear lake

the Barn had a large family gathering room

learning about Grandpa Earl Heward -
reminiscing and sharing stories

the Bear Lake Ranch House
with volleyball net, horse shoes and lots of space to play

we rented the house and the barn which was converted to
more bedrooms and family group room

the auction

the Heward Siblings
RaDean, Linda, Haldon, Harley, Wesley, Russell

Back in Deweyville, our garden is thriving!

 an awesome sunset

Deweyville YM/YW went to the Brigham City Temple

Going Glamping
which is - Glamorous Camping

I saw an article in a magazine about Glamping at Bear Lake
and we decided we wanted to stay in a Conestoga Wagon...
when we got to Conestoga Ranch however, we found out they had overbooked,
(it's a new facility and the kinks aren't resolved yet).
They asked us to accept a Glamping Tent, with their apologies
and FREE OF CHARGE!
So, I decided to be nice about it and accept.  :)
Our tent was very nice, with a King sized bed, all the linens
and amenities included.  It was Fun!

It's a neat location
and looks awesome at night with campfires and lanterns glowing

a family sized tent

the Covered wagons -
we want to go back and try a wagon out

that night we went to the
Pickleville Playhouse
for a Cowboy Dinner and show called
Juanito Bandito in the One With the Monkey

a great dinner and a really entertaining show

by the end of the month --- I have my quilt sewn together
and Wes has the back wall of tin on the shed and
the end wall cross beams are up
there are still a few days - he will probably have rafters up
Will's 4th Birthday
we sent him the Ninja shirt
(and I can't remember what else!)

Taylor Kate's  3rd birthday!
We bought her a bike

we spent a day helping Doug haul dirt into his backyard
HUGE JOB!  = sore muscles  :)

shed continues to develop

  1. You guys have been busy as always! Love the quilt, can't wait to see the finished shed. Also, the reunion looked fun as well as the glamping!
